I've been playing with Paint Tool SAI again recently and made these marker type 'brushes'. I thought someone might find them useful so here they are! -- I just found this great tutorial for Copics, [link] I guess my brushes fall more into the 'Staedler Lomocolor' / 'Berol Colouring Pen' category!
1) Unzip the downloaded file - there should be two folders; "72 dpi" and "300 dpi" - Both contain the same brushes.*
2) Find a folder called "toolnrm" in your SAI program directory which is possibly one of the following: C:\Program Files\PaintTool SAI C:\Program Files (x86)\PaintTool SAI C:\Program Files\Easy PaintTool SAI C:\Program Files (x86)\Easy PaintTool SAI
3) Copy the contents (56, 57, 58 and 59) of the "72 dpi" folder or the "300 dpi" folder into "toolnrm"
4) Start SAI - scroll down to the bottom of the pens/brushes/tools box to find the new brushes!
* If you mostly work zoomed at 100% it's recommended you use the brushes in the "72 dpi" folder. If you work for print or zoomed out use the contents of the "300 dpi" folder.
I'm not sure I understand... I guess they are packaged with 'default settings' but any changes made to brushes in sai will become the new default, if you've played with the settings and want to go back to how they originally were just overwrite the *.ini files in "toolnrm" with the ones you used in the zip. Hope this helps
To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location.
To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
Ok, seriously, they are amazing. Ultra realistic. And the third one, unf. <3
